Education on Two Wheels
The new school year is off to a great start for Ayora and 60 students in need of transportation means to school. Thanks to our generous benefactor and partner in the “Education on Two Wheels” project, Hexcel – a well-established composites and raw material manufacturer and innovator in its respective industry – we were able to provide 60 bicycles to select candidates from “Lycee Tayeb El Khammal”, in Dar Bouazza the Nouaceur District of the greater Casablanca metropolitan area.
These “Junko” bikes not only were the top of the line, priced on the higher end in the bicycle retail market, with 21 speeds and cutting edge machinery (Please refer to the photos from the event at the bottom of the article), but were also donated with protective gear, such as helmets, elbow and knee pads to protect the young riders from any injuries, especially when they are meant to provide mobility and ability to travel back and forth from home to school on a daily basis. A super dependable solution for transportation, these bicycles are built very light and provide a dual benefit such as keeping a healthy lifestyle and providing economical means of transportation, focusing mainly on an environmentally sustainable urban lifestyle.

The board of education at Lycee Tayeb El Khammal selected the candidates based on a thorough survey and census process to find the best targets of the donations, based on proximity from the school, economical circumstances as well as other factors for merit. The give away event, which took place October 6th 2022 at the school, saw the presence of senior leadership from Hexcel, officials from the District of Nouaceur, Ayora representatives and leadership, the young student beneficiaries, and News Outlets that not only were broadcasting the event from start to finish but also conducted interviews with all the parties involved. It was a wonderful event marked with many smiles and joy that accompanied the fruition of Ayora and Hexcel Company’s hard work, it was a true sense of fulfillment for all involved, which resulted from this one of a kind collaboration.
The Ayora Foundation would like to especially thank the Hexcel Management team made up of: Jihad Mouhib, Meryem El Alaoui Lamrani, Mohamed Rebib, Anas Aboukhalid, Mounir Berberi, Saad Lahdyi, and Karim Farih. A special thank you also goes out to the Nouaceur Town Officials who attended the giveaway event: Tawfiq Lamrani , Rabiâ Toughine, and Yassine Mtouaa.

We would also like to thank all our benefactors in every operation and who continue to bring joy and smiles to children’s faces throughout the kingdom of Morocco, whether through our student sponsorship or our day-to-day operations such as the ongoing Aourga Well Operation.
