Brings Clean Water
to Sidi Fares
In a remarkable initiative to improve access to clean water, the Ayora Foundation has funded the digging of a well in Sidi Fares, a community within the commune of Asni in the province of Lhaouz, Morocco. The picturesque region, known for its beautiful mountain views, lies 1800 meters above sea level, and is approximately 70 kilometers from the city of Marrakech, some of the more known villages in the area are Agadir, Tazlega, Tamsoult, Fitzght, tadmamet, and fattala. This project not only aimed to provide potable water but also establishes a spring equipped with faucets, ensuring that the local population has reliable access to this essential resource. Given the high altitude, the digging efforts were very long and tiresome, and at times, even hopeless; however, after long days of digging and hard word the foundation and its team of dedicated staff were able to touchdown on some of the cleanest subterranean aqua duct supply, and thus succeeded to achieve the main objective.
Access to clean water is a fundamental necessity, yet many communities around the world still face significant challenges in obtaining it. In Sidi Fares, the lack of clean water sources has been a pressing issue, affecting the health and well-being of residents. The need was even pronounced after the earthquake that devastated the families that as of today remain displaced in tents. The Ayora Foundation’s efforts to address this critical need are commendable and will make a profound impact on the community. It’s important also to note that the water will be used for everything, from everyday hygiene to construction and rebuilding projects that require the use of water, there will be many functions for the source, whereas most wells built in the past were for basic living needs such as food and hygiene.
The Ayora Foundation’s project in Sidi Fares is a shining example of how collaboration and compassion can lead to meaningful change. As communities worldwide continue to grapple with the challenges of water access, initiatives like this serve as a beacon of hope, showcasing the positive impact that can arise from collective efforts.
